VISUAL ARTS:

Headwaters School of Music and The Arts offers high quality visual arts programming for children and adults in an exciting range of disciplines. Through hands-on experience, students learn to combine practical, theoretical, and critical skills to develop their own unique voice as artists, as creators, and as arts enthusiasts. Classes are studio based in well-equipped facilities and are taught by accomplished artists and arts educators.
 
Writing Workshop


A Writing Workshop:

"From the Battle Zone to Beauty: Return to Fire, Stars, and Summer Lightning."

The focus of this workshop will be to reconnect with the simple and the beautiful things of nature, both within our natural selves, and in the world.  From the silence of our winters, our muteness and sleep, we shall draw near the music and dancing that feeds the fire.

Saturdays, 1-4 p.m. 

Cost:  $75 for all three or $30 each Saturday

 
Clay Sculpture “ Mudmuffins”

Our most popular class!  Course includes coil, slab and pinch clay methods with focus on both decorative and functional designs of hand building clay.  You will fire and glaze your creations in the Kiln.  Most children take this class several times so each session features new projects.

            Mondays from 3:30—4:45 pm for ages 6—13

            Mondays from 6:00—7:15 pm for Teens & Adults

            Cost:  $45 per session

Drawing

Drawing with Susan Kedzie-Webb

Using a variety of senses we will explore fundamental concepts of drawing that will help artists understand the use of shape, light, space and line quality in drawings.  To enhance the creative process, the instructor will gently stimulate the other senses — touch, smell, taste, and sound — through a variety of activities.

Thursdays Jan. 10—31 from  3:30—4:30 pm for ages 7-9

Thursdays Feb 2—28 from  5:00—6:00 pm for ages 10—13

Saturdays Mar 6—27 from 10:30—12:00 for teens/adults

A Personal & Reflective Retreat

FACES OF THE MOON

 A retreat of personal reflection on the nature of feminine awareness.  We will look at various images of the Feminine embodied in myths and fairy tales.  CarolAnn will reconstruct the four-fold image of the Feminine archetype and relate these symbols to the stages of a woman’s life.

Monster Factory Puppets

Come join the intrepid monster makers and create fun and whimsical papier mβchι puppets 

Using starch and paper, paint and wood, participants will make their own monster marionettes and have the opportunity to exhibit and perform in a MONSTER DANCE LINE For grades 3—5

A new class is being offered in Clearbrook at the Clearwaters Life Center.  Class will meet on Tuesdays beginning April 1 and running through April 29 from 4:00 - 5:15 p.m.
