Happy New Year to our students and families!
January is an exciting month as our students return from Christmas break! We look forward to another great semester of private lessons.
The schedule for art classes and events for January has something for everyone!
Christmas Events at Headwaters School of Music and the Arts!
It has been a busy and exciting holiday season here at the Headwaters School of Music and the Arts.
The picture is from our MerryTubaChristmas held at the Paul Bunyan Mall the beginning of this month. Thanks to all of you who came out to play!
Students will also be playing at the Sankta Lucia Festival on Tuesday, December 13th.

Join us at the Bemidji Paul Bunyan Mall on Saturday, December 3rd for a 2:00pm performance!
Every TubaChristmas performance features traditional Christmas carols especially arranged for the first TubaChristmas (Created by Harvy Phillips in 1974).
Come out and listen to the music! And, all tuba and euphonium players are encouraged to call the Headwaters School of Music & the Arts at 218-444-5606 to sign up and be part of this Christmas tradition.

2011 Bemidji ARTCAMP at Headwaters School!
The Headwaters School of Music & the Arts had an inspiring and amazing introductory year of ART CAMP!
Three girls, along with their art instructor, came from Northwest MN and along with Janet and local artists, ART CAMP was created and was a success. We now have an incredible "dream vision" for the endless opportunities and possibilities of creating a summer art camp for all students.
Thanks to Kathy Gustafson, Cal Rice, Tom Daly, Erik Evensen, and Terry Honstead for instructing this year.

Merry TubaChristmas 2011
It was a wonderful day at the 2011 Merry Tuba Christmas held at the Paul Bunyan Mall on December 3rd! THANK YOU to all who participated!!!! Here is a picture of local students who were part of the talented group!
Keep enjoying the holiday spirit and music and attend our 2011 Student Christmas Recitals held at the Headwaters School of Music and the Arts on Friday, December 16 at 5:00pm, and 7:00pm; Saturday, December 17 at 5:00pm.
Billy Collins
Billy Collins, former Poet Laureate of the United States, will be in Bemidji this Saturday, September 25!
Get your tickets today for his appearance at the Bemidji High School Auditorium on Saturday at 7:30pm. Adult tickets are $20, and Student tickets are $10.
After Billy's appearance at the high school, everyone is invited to a reception at the Headwaters School of Music & the Arts honoring Billy. Music will be provided by The Clearwater Hot Club. Bring your ticket to get in the door!
Madeleine
Madeleine is one of our new students this fall at the Headwaters School. She is eleven years old and has just began piano lessons. She always comes into lessons with a smile on her face and her lessons prepared! Madeleine says she enjoys music because it helps her at school in music class, and also because a lot of her friends also take piano lessons (several musical friends at the Headwaters School!). Madeleine's other interests include hockey, hanging out with her friends, and featuring her dog at dog shows!
