Our Story

Piano

In November 2006 one of our parents came up to me and said “Janet, you really need a decent piano down there.” I agreed. I asked her if she might be willing to help me in raising the funds to purchase a new grand piano. Before that evening was over, we had a committee of three parents and one teacher all willing to help!! In February 2007 we held our first fund raiser and in September 2007 I wrote the final check for the piano!! Many people bought keys and two foundations made grants to us to complete the fund raising. It is just a beautiful instrument and the students look forward to the Christmas and Spring recitals because they get to play on it.

Our Story

Madeleine

Madeleine is one of our new students this fall at the Headwaters School. She is eleven years old and has just began piano lessons. She always comes into lessons with a smile on her face and her lessons prepared! Madeleine says she enjoys music because it helps her at school in music class, and also because a lot of her friends also take piano lessons (several musical friends at the Headwaters School!). Madeleine's other interests include hockey, hanging out with her friends, and featuring her dog at dog shows!
