Our Story

Summer Events

It has been an incredible summer here at the Headwaters School with music, drama, and art alive with excitement every day! Our fall classes and private lessons start now, beginning August 31, but we would like to share some pictures from the many varieties of fun events of this summer.

The Beginning Group Guitar class with their instructor, Caleb Erickson. The students enjoyed it so much they will be continuing the class this month!

"Broadway Bound!" This was an extremly fun class with lots of kids, and their very talented teacher Bridget Stomberg. We are so excited Bridget is here, so keep your schedule open for more drama and theater classes with her starting in September!

The first Annual Lakes Area Drumset Camp was hosted this year at the Headwaters School--a thrilling, rhythmic, loud and very fun four days with 25 drumsets in our recital hall! It was incredible!

All ages participated in the "Sitting Prettier" chair painting class! This class was led by artist Malisa Van Maasdam.

The 2009 Chiziibii Suzuki Institute was held for a week at Oak Hills college in July. Very talented young violin and viola students learned dilligently from their instructors!

This is the "Up-Cycled Sun Catchers" class held in August. Their final products were so colorful and beautiful!

Nancy, our board president and ever-dependable violin supplier, is pictured here measuring arms of young children who are getting ready to learn the violin!

A crew from Schoolcraft came in on Monday, August 31, to volunteer their services to the Headwaters School! They cleaned windows, did some landscaping, and other various jobs to spruce the school up for a new school year! A very big thank you to the Schoolcraft team!

And we will certainly never forget the 10 day residency of "In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater." A truly magnificent production.
