Schedule of Events

  • Registration and Dormitory check-in will be from 3:00 p.m.- 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 11th.

  • The Institute will begin with a welcome and play-in at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 11th (students must have their instruments ready for tuning at 5:30 p.m).

  • A Bar-B-Q will be available following the opening play-in. This is an excellent time for everyone to mingle, get to know one another or renew “old” friendships, share experiences, and relax. See the billing form to sign up for this event.

  • Students studying in book 4 and higher will have one-hour ensemble rehearsal with their coach Sunday evening, July 11th from 7:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. It is important that all students participating in ensembles attend this rehearsal.

  • Institute classes (which will be 50 minutes long) and solo recitals will take place from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8:00 a.m.- 2:15 p.m. on Friday (only master classes, repertoire classes and the Art classes will be held on Friday).

  • A professional photographer will take a group photo of all institute participants and faculty on Monday, July 12th at 4:45 p.m. Information on purchasing a group 8×10 color photo is on the billing form.

  • The faculty will perform a solo recital Tuesday evening, July 13th at 7:00pm. A family night of dancing is scheduled immediately following the faculty recital.

  • The Chamber Music Society of Minnesota will present a concert on Wednesday, July 14 at 7:00pm.

  • The orchestras and ensembles will perform Thursday evening, July 15th at 7:00 p.m.

  • Dormitory checkout is noon on Friday, July 16th.

  • The Institute will conclude with a festival concert on Friday, July 16th from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
