THIRD STREET SINGERS- Senior Chorus Program

Join this singing group that rehearses in our beautiful recital hall room! The Third Street Singers is a non-audition senior chorus program that rehearses on Monday afternoons from 1-2pm here at the Headwaters School of Music & the Arts.

The group rehearses weekly; They perform every 3rd week in the community. The January performances include:

  • Monday, January 16th at Havenwood 2:30pm
  • Wednesday, January 18th at Goldpine 2:30pm
  • Friday, January 20th at Baker Park 2
  • Tuesday, January 21 at Neilson Place 3pm

January has a songlist of 10 songs including Go Down Moses, Red Wing, Winter Wonderland, Swinging on a Star, and many more!

BRASS CHOIR

Brass Choir is for students in MIDDLE SCHOOL and HIGH SCHOOL who want to be part of our NEW Class!

You will play with students from several schools and learn some great music specifically for brass!

This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your performance and ensemble skills.

This group will meet Mondays at Headwaters School of Music & the Arts from 4:30pm-5:30pm. The session will meet weekly from January 9-February 27. Cost of the entire session is only $40!

YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Youth Orchestra will met at Headwaters School on Tuesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm! The group is for students in grades 5 and up or those who have been in private instruction. Students must be able to play in 1st and 3rd position.

First session will be Tuesdays January 10, 17, 24, 31. Cost is $10/month.

Second session will be Tuesdays February 7, 14, 21, 28. Cost is $10/month.

Third session will be Tuesdays March 6, 13, 20, 27. Cost is $10/month.

Fourth session will be April 3, 10, 17, 24. Cost is $10/month.



BEGINNERS VIOLIN CLASS

This violin group class is for students who have never played a stringed instrument but want to learn!

Students will learn rhythms by playing them on percussion instruments or clapping. Students will play music games while learning how to read basic music notation. They will also learn how to hold a violin and the bow.

This class is for students ages 6 through age 9!

Class dates will be Wednesdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Cost is $25 which includes an instruction manual. Violins will be available on a rental basis.

First session is: January 4, 11, 18, 25.  Second Session: February 1, 8, 15, 22. Third Session: March 7, 14, 21, 28. Fourth Session: April 4, 11, 18, 25.

WINTER WRITER'S RETREAT held at HSMA

 SONGWRITING WORKSHOP

Composer Andrew Green will be giving a songwriting workshop on Saturday, January 28 at the Headwaters School of Music & the Arts.

Songwriters will learn the steps of the songwriting process and learn how to improve their songwriting abilities by increasing the creativity of their songs, writing better melodies and chord progressions, adding rhythmic interest, creating compelling hooks, using different song forms, and writing better lyrics.

This workshop will be from 10am-4pm. Breaks will be included.

Cos of the workshop is $45.
